The Unsung Hero Fund is dedicated to carrying on the Legacy of 2nd Lt. Peter Burks. Known as the Peter Burks Country Store by soliers in Iraq and Afghanistan, The Unsung Hero Fund deliver supplies to those serving our country.

Since starting in December of 2007, the fund has delivered over 7 TONS of "make it a little more tolerable" supplies to our troops: soldiers who are extraordinary and yet still just regular men, women, spouses, friends, moms, dads, sons & daughters, serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.  The supplies are the things we all take for granted here that just can't be found out on the front lines of the war on terror.  Things like comfort food, healthy snacks, health/hygiene items, and miscellaneous stuff from Xbox's to clean white sock or hand written notes from home.

You will notice collection boxes in & around Celina, Texas for The Unsung Hero Fund. A joint community service effort is under way.  Next time you are at the store, pick up an extra bag of snacks or any of the listed items and drop it in a box near you.  Peter Burks' Father is a Celina resident and heads up the fund. 

Your help, combined with the help from the Rotary Club of Preston Trails, Celina Mainstreet, The Celina Chamber of Commerce and other community minded folks will keep a steady supply of "home away from home" headed towards those who really appreciate it and have earned it the hard way.
